A Coupling Method for Identifying Arc Faults Based on Short-Observation-Window SVDR

چکیده

This article presents a new method for effective detection of ac series arc fault (AF) (SAF) and extraction SAF characteristics in residential buildings, which addresses the challenges with conventional current methods discriminating arcing nonarcing due to their similarity. Different from traditional method, proposed differential magnetic flux is coupled obtain high-frequency signals by putting live line neutral through transformer, can effectively solve problem features disappearing trunk-line current. However, similar effectiveness coupling could also be compromised when being used cases dimmer load starting process. found caused presence high-amplitude pulse phenomenon these scenarios, are incorrectly detected as other loads. To address this issue, short-observation-window singular value decomposition reconstruction algorithm (SOW-SVDR) enhance capability identify SAFs method. The has been implemented validated according UL1699 standard different types loads connected system tested under processes. experimental results show that approach more detecting AFs compared existing methods.
